Medical Implants

Materiex has in close collaboration with clients developed a procedure to test surface cleanliness of medical implants using AES high resolution surface analysis. This has since more than 25 years been a valuable quality assurance tool for implant manufacturers. Furthermore, it has been successfully applied to develop and maintain efficient cleaning procedures.

We have also investigated numerous implant failures due to e.g. fatigue or wear. Identification of foreign substances on implants has also been a common subject for investigation.
